Well due mainly to a bunch of requests I've gotten to continue Freeman's Mind, I guess I will continue it afterall. While I understand it's not everybody, it seems a good chunk of people like it more than I would have expected. I still plan to continue on Civil Protection and focus on that primarily, but this will be nice to release in between the times it's taking so long to get a CP episode out. Unfortunately I'm not working on either right now, I have other work I have to take care of first, but plant to get back to the series soon.
In the meantime, I could still use help on the webpage for any of you that are familiar with blogspot. I had one guy helping me who vanished, and another guy is helping me now, saying an additional person would be good too. So if you know all about html/blogspot, send me an email at rscott31@radford.edu. Also while I was planning to do it myself, I won't have a lot of time to work on the graphics for the site (buttons, banner, etc.) If you do graphic design and want to help work on the layout of the new webpage, email me too. I may want to see samples of your work however. That's all for now, I'll put another post up when I've resumed working on the series again.

ReplyDeleteRoss, my email is being stupid again, can't send you a reply, so I'm writing here. The subs for episode 2 will be ready today, maybe at evening. Or maybe tomorrow. The subs for episode 5 will be ready tomorrow for sure. Also, I think I will redo the episode 1,3 and 4 subs, 'cuz timing there sux. But I can't say for sure, I'l have to see if I'l have any free time, 'cuz I'm busy with the university and there's some problems at work, so I can't promise much, but I hope the subs for episode 2 and 5 will be ready today\tomorrow.

ReplyDeletei just noticed in episode 4 of cp, dave's feet look messed up whilt he's riding the train. hes leanong forward and his feet seem to awkwardly move. when he jumps off, he seems to fall backward. Is it GARRY'S MOD graphics that u use for cp? or is it ur own way????
ReplyDeleteI liked Freeman's Mind, but your kind of at the end of where you can do it. You can get through the residence cascade/ shit blowing up, and that would be pretty funny, but if you tried to do the rest of the game it doesn't seen like it would be that great.

It can be funny(unlike that part). But it will take a lot of work to make it well, and yo have to count of being able to make stuff up for what the AI does
P.S. I totally did something like Mike at the beginning of the game. Instead of waiting for the train to stop so I could jump to the ladder and get away from the Civil Protection guys, I jumped on, then landed in between the cars and died. Then I did it again and hit my head on a bar. Yay!
I totally didn't say your instead of you're at that last spot. Anyway, we want Civil Protection. We deserve Civil Protection. Maybe not, but still...

I think both CP and FM are great although I prefer CP because while the background story is based on HL/HL2 the episodes story is entirely your creation, which is awesome!

ReplyDeleteanonymous people: I'm still working on this other project, there hasn't been any progress on the series since then, though I promise there will be a real strong effort towards making more episodes after this. I'm even looking at having different groups work on animating different episodes to speed up production. Thanks for your patience, there's going to be a lot of stuff soon.
ReplyDeleteother anonymous dude: the higher poly models don't translate over well to HL: Source, they acted bugged with their animations. That and I didn't like all of the improvements they had.

ReplyDeletekaharanja guy: Yeah that's me, although future episodes will be released under the machinima Youtube channel as they help me out with my own ftp space, publicity, etc. If I expand much beyond HL I may have a new homepage there but that's a ways off
You could give Wordpress a try. I used to have a Blogger account, but I found Wordpress much more convenient and easier to use.
